I recently went on holiday to Ireland with my eldest son . In County Tipperary I spent my childhood summers with grandparents, my aunt and uncle bought their home when they passed away and I go back and stay with them every chance that I can. As soon as I step through the wooden door with the brass handle something quite emotional happens, my childhood memories come rushing back and I feel that safety of home. I will be sharing more blog posts about Ireland but the first one has to be my most favourite place in the world .The Vee , Co Tipperary.

I have started to wonder why it is such a special place to me .I think of all the memories made here in my childhood.
The picnics of tayto crisps sandwiches and club orange after walks . The ever changing weather where you can feel like you can touch the misty clouds and that wild breeze that clears your weary soul . The myths and legends of ‘petticoat loose’ the witch of the lake . Learning to skim stones across Bay Lough and jumping over sheep droppings. The memories of my grandfather collecting heather and pressing it between old book pages to make bookmarks for me to remember the summer spent in Ireland. I think it is all of those memories. The simple things we do in our childhood leave lasting impressions . It’s the places and people that are the real treasures in our lives.
Which childhood place would you like to revisit?
I love reading you blogs about past times in Ireland and your photos are stunning!.
I would love to revisit the mountain lodge just outside Cahir and also visit the Caves . 🤗
