I recently visited The Apple Tree Farm of Tipperary, I had often popped into the farm and the local shop with my Nana as a child. What really struck me is how it still flourishing and how many locals were popping into the shop and the campsite bustling. The Traas family moved from the Netherlands to Ireland in late 1960's and developed over 40 acres of different varieties of fruit at the farm . They have over 60! varieties of apples, which when I visited were ripe and ready to be harvested. They also produce and sell strawberries, raspberries, pears, plums, cherries and sparkling juices, Cider and much more. I highly recommend a visit to stroll around the beautiful and peaceful orchards and treat yourself to something delicious in the shop. When you support a local business you support a local community.
